Monster Girl Tier List Thread Anonymous 11/29/2025 (Sat) 14:05:29 No. 57448
Monster Girl Tier List https://tiermaker.com/create/monster-girl-17272701/ A tier list featuring monster girl characters from various media. Or just a list in general for anyone interested in discovering new characters. I also put together a companion document that explains more about the tier list itself and includes short entries for each character: https://drive.google.com/file/d/150Ulu8AK8b6cwXRcZfEwbxK-wWfKvAOA/view?usp=sharing/ Feel free to post your own rankings (partial lists are completely fine, given the size), recommend fitting characters to add, or discuss what shapes your preferences regarding monster girls.

>>57448 holy crap that's a lot of monster girls, I'll attempt it later
>>57458 Yeah, it took a while. If you don't know a character, I have the document available, as I said. Take your time.
>>57448 >recommend fitting characters to add Chiyo from Ane Naru Mono

>>57559 Sure, added to list template and document.

This took me a very long time. Most of the characters I didn't know much about I judged purely on design and threw them in either C for Cute/ Cool looking or D for Don't know, a few made it to other tiers but I'm sure if I knew more about their story or personality, it'd end up looking very different. Also heads up, the links to that Mossa artist in the document are basically dead.

>>57633 >S tier Ilias I kneel to a fellow complete and utter patrician
Very cool, lots of spider legs up there. Thanks for the info. It looks like the page is restricted to followers with access. I'll keep the link to the page itself for clarity, but I've replaced the tweet link with a Gelbooru link to mossacannibalis+warhammer_40k instead.
>>57633 And out of curiosity, what was the reasoning behind the E tier? I can see at least two patterns there.
(159.77 KB 850x702 1607212225477.jpg)

>>57700 Just stuff I generally don't like for one reason or another. The yordles and Midna's body type just doesn't appeal to me and for whatever reason their fans tend to be very aggressive and judgmental towards loli fans, and not in a funny way. I simply don't like the designs of the deer girls. Raphtalia is the poster girl of the good slave master trope. Never liked it, feels like it's becoming increasingly more common, in her case it was especially ridiculous when she willingly went back to being a slave and recommended other girls to join in slavery, plus I liked her earlier design more. Vtubers are too close to 3DPD territory, their characters feel forced and unfunny, I despise parasocial relationships, I hate when I see a neat picture and then find out it's a vtuber and their fanbase are an unholy schizophrenic mix of the worst aspects of idolfaggotry and streamer culture and they ruined /jp/. Karen has tag:netorare.
>>57729 Sure, I definitely agree with the VTuber bit. I was actually considering whether to include any in the list, but in the end, it felt sort of odd to leave them out, given that design-wise, I do like a few. I generally only included the popular ones. As for Karen, I've only read the first part of that doujin... I feel sort of conflicted now.
>>57633 Based Rachnee enjoyer, I genuflect
>>57729 >Vtubers are too close to 3DPD territory Vtubers are 3DPD territory. If you hate what their fanbases do, wait until you hear what they themselves get to.
>>57448 >So, where is the line exactly? For this, I used Polt as a baseline. Isn't that intermediate state where it's mostly furry but the face remains human called Kemono?
>>57936 (not OP here) Kemono is just Japanese furry art style, there are still animal snouts but are typically a lot less pronounced than on their western counterparts.
>>57938 Yeah, that's kind of what i mean. My point is, Polt is a furry either way, She has animal fur everywhere on her body, and a recognizable snout.
>>57940 I would give Polt a pass for being in one of the big three founding monster girl franchises and she's just barely furry/kemono, she has the button nose but not a snout. IMO she's straddling the line between monster girls and kemono and I can understand OP including her.
>>57943 If you want to like her, like her. I just think Polt is definitionally not a monstergirl, and looking at any booru, the grand majority agrees with me.
pinning this for a month or so in recognition of op's efforts composing the list and document
>>57448 All these years and I still love Garo so fucking much it's unreal.
>>57993 Thank you
>>57935 >Vtubers are 3DPD territory I meant more how in a way, at least for most of the big ones, they have to act in character rather than be their natural self while in front of a camera. It's not that uncommon for them to have a bit of a lore blurb for their respective personas too, though I imagine how much they will lean into that aspect can vastly vary from streamer to streamer. For example, the only vtuber I ever watched over 30 minutes of footage was Kizuna AI back before the huge vtuber boom and occasionally she'd have this gag that she was actually some super advanced AI rather than a real person. >If you hate what their fanbases do, wait until you hear what they themselves get to. AFAIK it's just your typical e-celeb drama nonsense. Secretly being in a relationship (which is taboo for some viewers), cheating, orgies in conventions and hotels, drugs, being unpleasant company IRL, you name it.
>>58050 >orgies in conventions and hotels I say thee "Ain't no way" to that.
>>58050 I think it's best if we concentrate on the topic at hand.

I skimmed a bit and probably missed a few key cuties getting lost in thought, but here's my exclusive, VIP only list. Lotta faces I'm not familiar with since I don't watch much anime.
(116.41 KB 266x328 splashy.png)

Here's a low effort submission for Splash Woman, who doesn't seem to be on the list (A big omission!). I'm no good with fonts so you get Arial. I also noticed there's no category for mechanical/robotic "monsters", so she's part other.
>>58350 Sure, totally fine as I said. And it's not just anime, there are games, manga, doujinshis, webcomics, people's OCs, etc. I would be quite surprised if someone were already familiar with over half of the characters there. >>58354 Thanks for trying. It's completely fine to just send a name and a picture (or even just the name). I can do the rest myself, I have it all somewhat automated by now. So I actually wrote in the document that I would mostly like to focus on the biological concept of a monster girl. No robots, ghosts, and such. I explained it in more detail there. I suppose an upper limit to robot-like parts would be the digimon I included. Hope that's okay.
>>58375 >No robots, ghosts, and such. It's a shame, but ultimately your decision. The doc and list say"these are the monstergirls i like and know."
(70.80 KB 266x328 char659.png)

>>57448 >>58401 Tiermaker has a feature where you can add your own images, though. If you'd like to use it, here's one for Splash Woman in the same format as the others.
>>58350 Big. Fluffy. Paws.
>>58409 Here's a setup that can be used for generating character images in the same format as what I used: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1rN5C9sl4Q4sBdImrvn_BTptwTLcLe25_?usp=drive_link

>MGE girls WTF? This list features unpopular MGs like cancers, but no dragons? No inari? No undead? Bullshit.
>>58632 The idea was not to be repetitive in terms of design, and generally prefer characters over races/species. There are already a good few dragon and fox girls on the list, but there wasn't really a crab one. But, of course, if there is demand for it, I can totally add them.
>>58634 I think you should really substitute the Crab People with something more popular. Like, a dragon, or a wight. Cancer isn't a monster girl, she's a MONSTER girl.

(132.06 KB 266x328 char305.png)

(129.00 KB 266x328 char310.png)

>>58632 >>58699 I would like to say that I believe I have a reasonable grasp of the distinction. To me, a Cancer isn't particularly far off from an Arachne. The crab eyes can be somewhat off-putting, but the brain part seems to be missing, and both the face and torso are preserved. I would say that is girl enough. I've added Dragon and Inari to the list and the document.

(9.29 KB 200x350 robot.png)

(12.08 KB 200x350 slime.png)

(10.80 KB 200x350 undead.png)

As for undead, they're just really not the sort of direction I personally enjoy regarding monster girls (as I explained in more detail in the document). But I understand that may be somewhat unsatisfactory, so I also put together icons for the excluded types to use with the setup here >>58569 for anyone who wants them. If it's not too many characters, you can ask me to generate the images too. I won't be adding them to the template, but you will be able to add them to your lists.
>>58705 >To me, a Cancer isn't particularly far off from an Arachne. Bro...
>>58705 Your opinion is wrong and you should apologize and immediately cater to my tastes.
>>58740 Not him but I see zero difference between Arachne and Cancer, design-wise. Both follow the same design philosophy and the only difference is swapping base creature.
>>58749 I mean, it's like saying there is 0 difference between a Ferrari 150º Italia and a Ford F1 50 because they are both cars. Not saying he should introduce them or anything, just saying that kind of surface level opinion is a disservice to the characters. I will say however, that it's maybe smart to make it so that people can contribute to the project by themselves is going to ease the load on "why is this monstergirl not here?" questions. Leaving a large swath of monstergirls out of the list is fine for a personal list, but with other people it's better if it encompasses more monstergirls. So maybe we could have an image repository of images and a google doc where people can add their own entries, or you can "merge the suggestions that people leave here to the list and doc, giving some guidelines to the formatting.
>>58759 I think some of you are obsessing too much about petty details. OP dude took his time to pick SIX HUNDRED monster girls. Not only that, he cared enough to compile a convenient document with a link to every single one of them instead of just chucking a bunch of random monster girls in and expecting anons to research them themselves. MGE fan will ask why it doesn't have their Dragon or Inari, MGQ fan will ask why robot girls are not on it when Laplace and various xelvy droids are quite popular. He had to choose which girls to take and which are going to be left out and anons should just take the thing as-is. Also as he said you can easily add your own girls when doing the tier list so I just don't see the point of this debate. >where people can add their own entries It sounds nice in theory but collaborative projects rarely succeed. There are too many ideas and especially the monster girl fandom is full of very opinionated people. You end up with too many cooks in the kitchen and then nobody is left happy. Note how both the mge image archive and mggt games collection are both ran by one anon each.
>>58764 OP is our slave and does this project for our entertainment.
>>58759 I would also say that this may be somewhat difficult in practice. I'll take some time to think about it. But honestly, I really don't believe that I left out that many characters due to my personal tastes. As I said, you can suggest some such entries here, and I'll make the image. If it turns out that a bunch of people ask me for it, I can consider changing my approach.
>>58764 I’mma be real I’m not sorting through 600 monster girls.
Decided to go through the entire list and I'm 1/3 way through now, will probably take a few more days. Gotta say it's an interesting experience to see all these monster girls I never knew, even if so many are your standard basic elves and catgirls. Thanks to tierlist anon for going through with it.
>>58834 Thank you for participating!
>>58705 >added dragon and inari Cool man thanks
I would like to expand this list with as many new fitting entries as possible. I suppose a 1000 would be a nice number to look at. Originally, I had around 200 or so characters that I just came to know organically through... being around, I guess, but after time, I did try to think of efficient ways of finding new monster girls. The most effective method by far was a script that used the Rule34 and Gelbooru APIs to fetch characters that co-occur with specific tags, applying a minimum ratio cutoff and sorting them by post count. I worked through tags like mermaid, lamia, dragon_girl, demon_girl, feathers, tail, and so on, and then reviewed the resulting character lists. I also manually went through the monster_girl tag on Rule34, Gelbooru, Pixiv (モンスター娘 OR 人外娘), e621, a few doujin sites, some anime and manga sites that provide such tags, and similar. Now that I've reached this point, I'm unsure what other worthwhile methods might still be available. If anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful.
>>60786 I don't think automating it is a good idea, the list is going to get flooded with hundreds of irrelevant literally whos, not to mention tagging inaccuracy on those sites.
>>60791 Well, it won't be automated in the sense that I will always be able to make the final judgment. It's just a resource for finding new characters, with "finding" being the keyword here.
>>60802 >>60786 Like the other anon said, i don't think you've missed much in terms of relevant monstergirls. If anyone is missing anything, they'll let you know.
(20.26 MB 1720x8012 list.png)

Finally done, took a bit too long but that was still fun.
>>61409 Very cool, it's interesting to see once more a sort of thinning out of the top tiers. I did expect the number of the very top spots to be limited, but three reserved tiers are intriguing. The top has a somewhat visible pattern, and I'm curious to learn more, same as for the somewhat-less-visible-pattern bottom.
>>61423 SSS is for girls I was obsessed with at any point SS for girls holding a special place in my heart but not to the point of obsession S for girls from games or other media I played/read that I really liked for reasons other than just their designs Tiers below S are generally centered around the appearance (but not always): A if it's just what I love about monster girls B if I think it's cool C if I don't care - elves, vampires or other girl types I'm not into D if I think it's meh/lazy buy not bad enough for me to dislike E if I hate it, like missing tails on beast girls and bipedal horse girls There are some exceptions from those rules, but it goes more or less like this.
